World Cultural Heritage - Wachau

The Wachau is a part of an Austrian Valley, about 30 km long..
The beautiful thing about the Wachau is its absolut unique weather compared to the nearby area.. Mostly you will find a temperature difference about 2-3 degree Celsius when you compare it to most surrounding areas that are about 10 kilometers away.
Sun makes a difference too and we get alot of it here... :)

Vine always played a big role in the sculpting of the landscape ever since the romans. Thats also an important factor when it comes to wildlife.. Enough bushes of many kinds, lots of different Flowers and Herbs are resources not only the Spermophilus and Roe deer are happy to get a hold on to.. Also alot of different bird species are well settled here and slowly begin to regain their natural space.
Hoopoe, Bee-eaters, Kingfishers and even little Owls plus many more birds call the Wachau their home.
But also the little one´s like Wood mouse, eurasian harvest mouse and the field Vole find superb conditions to exist.

And then we have all the predators, Kestrel, Sparrowhawk, red fox, Owls, Buzzards even some white tailed Eagles come to visit the Wachau sometimes..

So, all in all the World Cultural Heritage Wachau is a pretty damn good place to be.. ;)
